1. Teori Sel: Semua organisme hidup terdiri dari sel-sel. Sel adalah unit dasar kehidupan.
2. Teori Genetika: Sifat diwariskan melalui transmisi gen. Gen terletak di kromosom dan terdiri dari DNA.
3. Teori Evolusi: Perubahan genetik dalam suatu populasi yang diwariskan selama beberapa generasi. Perubahan ini mungkin kecil atau besar, terlihat atau tidak begitu terlihat.
4. Prinsip Homeostasis: Kemampuan untuk memelihara lingkungan internal yang konstan dalam menanggapi perubahan lingkungan.
5. Prinsip Termodinamika: Energi konstan dan transformasi energi tidak sepenuhnya efisien.
